It is best to arrive 20 minutes ahead of time for a first appointment. You need to bring your current Insurance Card. We will want to copy it before your visit. You need to bring money, check, or a credit card to pay your copay that applies to your insurance.
It is important for you to bring the prescriptions that you are currently taking. A list of any allergies is helpful. An immunization record is often needed. The doctor will usually ask about prior major illnesses and surgeries. If time allows, it can be helpful if you stop in ahead of time and sign a release form so that we can obtain any important medical records.
Call the office as soon as possible. We allow extra time for acute illness or injury visits every day. The earlier in the day you call, the easier it is to get an appointment. Sometimes it will be necessary to see the physician in the group that you don't ordinarily see in order to get you into to the office for these urgent appointments. We are able to manage most minor injuries as we have Xray available and we have the ability to do suturing for minor wounds. If we are not able to handle your problem we will send you directly to the appropriate specialist or to the emergency room.
On weekends or evenings, you may call the 755-3000 number. The physician on call will direct you to Urgent care or the Emergency Room if appropriate. If you are having a serious emergency (chest pain, loss of consciousness, severe abdominal pain etc.) Go Ahead and call 911. The Emergency Room will call the MD on call.
As always, it is best to get your prescriptions refilled at the time of your regular office visit. However, time and insurance company rules often make it necessary to get prescriptions refilled before your next regular appointment. We will attemp t to call in or fax in your prescription refills within 24 HOURS of their request. Always have your pharmacy's phone number and, if possible, their fax number when you call in for prescription refill requests. If you have called a busy pharmacy in the past few years, you know how long we often wait on hold to speak to a pharmacist!
